ELIGIBILITY
Every year the new scholarships are made available to first year students, based on financial assistance needs of the student. The financial need assessment is made primarily through the application completed by the student. Each THANKS scholarship will provide assistance for yearly tuition for up to five years. The scholarship will be renewed every year as long as the student continues to succeed academically. After graduation, another new student will reap the same benefit, another student after that, and yet another student after that and so on.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Application for a THANKS scholarship is available KEMCAANA’s web site. It is the same for used to apply for all KEMCAANA Endowment Scholarships. This application should be completed and submitted electronically.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY TO RENEW THE SCHOLARSHIP.
The student must remain enrolled at KEMU and pass all exams.
THE SELECTION PROCESS
Applications for THANKS scholarship are solicited each year, depending on the number of available slots for new scholarships. KEMU has a standing Scholarship Committee appointed by the Vice Chancellor and consists of 3 professors at KEMU. After carefully confirming the financial information, the Scholarship Committee interviews the students and selects the students for all the scholarships.
MECHANISM FOR PAYMENT OF THESE SCHOLARSHIPS
Every year one-year’s tuition amount is given directly to the KEMU admission office. The students who have already paid the annual tuition prior to their selection for the THANKS scholarships, the full tuition amount for one year will be reimbursed directly to the student in one lump sum.

This contribution provides the donors a way to show that they are thankful for the five years they spent in our alma mater where we had the wonderful teachers and made our lifelong friends.
The KEMCAANA web pages for these scholarships give us an ideal way to show gratefulness to the people in our lives that helped us to be what we are today as well as to memorialize our friends and elders.
A donor may establish the scholarship in their own name or to honor someone else’s name, or as memorial to someone. The donor may also decide to remain anonymous. The amount of donation needed to establish a THANKS scholarship is $5,000.00 However donations in any amount are welcome. One may pay the amount in installments, but the scholarship will be named only after the total amount has been received.
